Thaksin University and GEN Thailand Empower Over 1,000 Students Through Entrepreneurship at Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025

Thaksin University, in collaboration with GEN Thailand, hosted a major event as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2025, with the goal of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students in Southern Thailand and connecting them to real opportunities in innovation and business creation.

Purpose of the Event


The program was designed to:

• Cultivate entrepreneurial thinking among more than 1,000 students.

• Inspire youth with real-world insights from successful entrepreneurs.

• Provide a development platform through a regional pitching competition.

• Connect the university with national and global entrepreneurship networks, especially GEN Thailand and the GEW global community.

Morning Session: TSU Premier Pitch Championship 2025


The day began with the TSU Premier Pitch Championship 2025 finals, featuring 15 outstanding student teams pitching innovative business ideas aimed at solving real problems.


The winning team received a 15,000 THB cash prize and the opportunity to join international innovation activities within the World Technology University Network (WTUN).

Afternoon Session: Meet Glocal CEOs


In the afternoon, the main auditorium was filled with over 1,000 students, entrepreneurs, and lecturers for the “Meet Glocal CEOs” session under GEW 2025.


Three prominent speakers shared their entrepreneurial journeys and insights:

• Suwanchai Lohawatanakul – President, ACIOA (Asean Chief Information Officer Association) Digital Liveable Cities Chapter

• Nop Pongsatorn – Content Creator & Co-founder, Refinn & Eddu

• Natthapong Jarawit – CEO & Founder, LILUNA


They discussed how students can transform skills gained at university into real businesses, how to think “glocal” (local strengths connected to global opportunities), and what mindsets are essential to succeed in today’s fast-changing landscape.

The GEW 2025 activities at Thaksin University were a great success, marked by high participation, meaningful learning, and the inspiring energy of young entrepreneurs ready to build the future.


GEN Thailand will continue to expand entrepreneurship programs across Thailand throughout 2025, connecting universities, cities, and startup communities nationwide.
